Children’s Book Teaches Social Skills

Raising Resiliency
I am overjoyed with the outcome of this love project!
My soul tribe has worked tirelessly to ensure Ada, Kokum, and Magic Feather come to life in a meaningful way for girls and women.
This book series begins with this first book about a lesson in setting healthy boundaries.
Valuable learning for girls and presented in a way to honor our daughters’ need to learn about self-love and respect.

The setting is based on conversations and the learning that takes place around Kokum’s kitchen table.
Ada, a courageous 8-year-old girl, discloses she is feeling bullied by a girl at school.
This story shows how Ada processes her real emotions about the situation by confronting the situation for herself.

This book is intended to show examples of how we demonstrate self-love and is written through a child’s lens.

Raising Readers
There are no cliche messages about having to make friends with everyone, and we all live happily ever after.
Straight to the point and sharing the process for children to learn how to apply values-based strategies like setting healthy boundaries in relationships.
Parents and teachers will see value in using this story as a platform to facilitate discussions about the topic of setting healthy boundaries.
Highlights Indigenous Culture
Being Metis, I feel like June is a powerful month for the remembrance of our people’s roots in Canada.
With the countless tragedies to our indigenous children, girls, and women, I feel it’s the best month of the year to share ‘Ada and Magic Feather’ (2022) with the world.
Canadian Children’s Book Author
I’ve dreamed of being a Canadian author. An early reader myself, and reading to my children even while pregnant, a love for reading has proven to be important throughout life.
Although I have written and published two other books, valuable resources for conflict management, writing children’s books has been a dream come true.
